Hollow Man (2000)

The full trailer is now online. This one goes all out to focus on the invisibility. Seeing Kevin Bacon's character in water, rain, puddles, smoke, etc. I just saw it last night in front of Gladiator. Looks cool but it isn't nearly as creepy as the teaser trailer.

In case you haven't been paying attention, the invisible man project Hollow Man is going to feature some really disturbing special effects. In this movie, when Kevin Bacon becomes invisible it will look like he is disappearing one layer at a time. First his skin disappears, then muscle, then organs. You get the idea. It should look cool as hell and should also gross out a lot of people.

However if you downloaded the trailer a few weeks back you might have noticed you only got a tiny glimpse of that happening. Apparently it was deemed a little too much for a trailer so it was cut back. Now you can see what was left out. AICN is hosting the cut footage in two sizes. I recommend checking it out.

The Hollow Man trailer marks the first time we've been able to see any of the effects in the movie. It shows Kevin Bacon splashing water on his face while invisible. You can see the water trail down a face you can't see. It also shows a hint of the process by which he turns invisible. There is one quick shot of him with his skin faded away and then later you see just his skeleton before he fades completely from sight. It focuses heavily on suspense with just a hint of the effects. Very cool.

Last week we got the first picture from Paul Verhoeven's invisible man movie. Now we can show you a behind the scenes video. It shows numerous scenes being filmed. Having read the script I imagine that they come from very early in the movie. Kevin Bacon's character is leading a test of the invisibility process on an ape and things aren't going well. There is a funny moment as director Paul Verhoeven is trying to help out the actors by howling like an injured gorilla from off camera. Anyway, check it out:
