Do you have any inside information on Survivor 2? If so share it with us! Use our scoop form or email us at news@tnmc.org. Episode SummariesWeek 4Once again, our readers proved pretty incapable of correctly picking the person to get the boot. Our readers favored Alicia to get the boot (huh?) and had Jerri coming in second. Mitchell, who actually got the boot, received almost no votes prior to the show. By the time we had the chance to change to poll he had suddenly become very popular, receiving a couple hundred votes. You kids are lousy predicters but at least you're sneaky. Finally this show got interesting in Week 4. Intrigue has been low up until now but that has finally changed. Absolutely everything went Kucha tribe's way this week. First they win the reward challenge by unsorting a puzzle that revealed a map to the location of three hens and a rooster. The rooster was promptly served up as a meal, leaving the hens to produce eggs for the tribe. Later in the show, a wild pig is spotted near Kucha's camp and Michael leaps into action to hunt the little critter down. He successfully kills it and he and Rodger quickly set about making it into ribs, pork chops, ham and bacon. Most of the tribe is a little grossed out by the butchering process. Kimmi on the other hand goes ballistic, definitely distancing herself from the tribe. Her vegetarian ideals are becoming more and more of a problem. Okagor on the other hand has no luck. Colby and Jerri spend plenty of time attempting to catch a pig but with no luck. She spends that time trying hard to keep Colby on her side, but with little success. He has clearly become wary of her and distances himself from her attempts to gain power. Meanwhile, Tina and Keith have clearly been angered by Jerri's proclamation at tribal council in week 3 that she counts Amber, Mitchell and Colby amongst her friends. They feel left out and Keith starts working hard to break Colby away from Jerri. The immunity challenge is a quiz with the immunity idol going to the tribe that gets the most correct answers. It comes down to a tie breaker between Alicia and Mitchell. It looks bad for Kucha as Alicia has missed all three questions she's had to answer so far. Her bad luck doesn't last though and she beats Mitchell on the final question to send Okagor to tribal council for the third straight time. The initial vote at council ends in a tie with three votes for Mitchell and three votes for Keith. Those two are given a chance to speak and then the rest of the tribe votes a second time. Keith proclaims himself a fighter who won't ever give up on the tribe. Mitchell seemingly asks out by agreeing with Keith and adding that he himself has hit a physical and emotional wall. That doesn't seem to matter though as the vote is again tied, with two votes apiece to each of the men. The final tie breaker is a tally of previous votes. Keith had not received any votes in previous tribal councils but Mitchell had so he was the one to go. It seems now that a major power struggle is occurring in Okagor with Colby the likely swing vote. Amber proved that she will vote out of loyalty to Jerri above removing a weak member. Tina proved that she has ice water in her veins and will vote out anyone she perceives as weak, regardless of friendship. Week 3Way to go kids. Our online poll proved a complete bust. Maralyn was voted off the show but our readers were caught off guard, only one person voted against her. Mad Dog was sacrificed by Ogakor after she severely slowed them down during the immunity challenge. Some members of the group even said that they would probably not have lost the challenge had they not voted Kel off in the previous tribal council. Earlier in the show, the Kucha tribe became a bit alarmed by Michael's seeming blood lust. He was busy fashioning a spear with their only knife with the intention of hunting down a wild boar. The other members of the tribe were skeptical of his plans, thinking he was concerned more with his own ambitions than food. Ogakor started the day well by claiming the reward challenge. This was the water torture test in which the tribe had to carry water jugs over thin beams where they would then be hung on a pole across the shoulders of an opposing tribe member. Michael and Colby were the chosen ones and the match ended in a draw. They ran out of water jugs with approximately 400 pounds of water hanging on the poles. It was declared a tie when Michael's pole snapped from the weight. A tie breaker requiring the tribes to move as many jugs in five minutes as possible went to Ogakor. They received a fishing kit for the win. It quickly came in handy and they caught several fish. Keith got his first real chance to show off his cooking skills and the tribe was delighted with the food. It didn't necessarily gain him any standing though as the tribe seemed to view it more as a cooking lesson. Meanwhile, over at Kucha, Rodger and Elisabeth are bonding rather well, to the point where she insists she'll never vote against him. At the same time, Jeff and Alicia are forming a strong pair, with eyes on the final prize. They both agreed that Nick isn't contributing nearly enough. Back at Ogakor, Jerri and Colby seem to be turning into a couple. They spend much of their time flirting and hanging out together. The immunity challenge proved particularly grueling to this hungry group. The tribe members were tethered together and had to traverse an obstacle course. The first tribe to get the entire group to the finish line took the immunity idol. Kucha took an early lead but it evaporated when Rodger got tangled in the rope and repeatedly fell down. Ogakor though was unable to take advantage when Maralyn fell repeatedly at the end. Week 2Michael gets the show off to a bad start by electing to cook some rice without consulting anyone else in Kucha tribe. The gesture is not well received by the other tribe members who express real irritation with his independent decision. On top of that they can barely eat the heavily overcooked rice. Ogakor tribe tries to fight the oppressive heat by lounging in a shallow area of the river, calling it their whirlpool. Kel opts out to go fishing instead. He works hard but ultimately has nothing to show for it. The rest of the tribe take notice of his lack of fishing skills. The first challenge of the episode is for the reward of some warm blankets. To get them, the tribes have to jump off a cliff and swim to a crate anchored in the middle of the river, one by one. They then have to free the crate and guide it to the beach. Ogakor wins the challenge with Kucha heavily slowed down by Roger, who has only just recently learned to swim. None the less, the tribe were supportive of their elder member for his efforts to overcome his fears. Back at Ogakor camp, the cooking of rice is also a sore point. Keith, a chef, has been overcooking the rice to the dismay of his tribemates. Jerri steps in and uses some flour to make tortillas which prove far more edible. At the Kucha camp, Mike proves himself a good fisherman by returning with several decent size catches. The immunity challenge proved to be something of a moral dilemma for Kimmi. The challenge would require the contestants to eat what ever ended up in front of them on a spinning wheel. Kimmi is a vegetarian and refused to go against that even if it meant losing. Sure enough, on her turn, some cow brains come up and she refuses to eat, putting her tribe behind in the contest. She is ultimately redeemed though when Tina can't keep down some cow stomach lining, setting up a tie breaker. Kimmi and Tina face off over the prospect of eating a foot long mangrove worm. A worm is apparently okay for Kimmi and she wolfs it down to win the immunity idol for Kucha. Trust becomes the focal point of the tribal council. Ogakor vote Kel out, having lost faith in him over earlier accusations that he was hiding food. Week 1The group of 16 is airlifted into the Australian outback. They are then given five minutes to grab all the supplies they can carry from a crate for each tribe. They then face a five mile hike to their camps. There were no trails to follow, simply a map to guide them. The term camp is a loose one as the only indication of their new homes is a flag with the name of their tribe. The concept of survival quickly sets in for the Kucha tribe who dive into the river in celebration of reaching camp, only to quickly realize that they have no shelter and are now in wet clothes. Kucha starts construction on a shelter, which ignites some irritation between Michael and Rodger. Rodger is an experienced carpenter but his advice is being ignored. Overnight Kimmi makes herself stand out with her loud and unceasing talking. Ogakor has a somewhat easier time with constructing shelter. Colby's luxury item is a huge Texas flag which now serves as the roof of their shelter. That doesn't mean tensions don't mount as Jerri and Keith argue over the flag's positioning. Food becomes a priority for both tribes. Kucha discovers figs but are quickly disappointed to find most of them infested with bugs. Neither tribe has any luck in getting a fire started. The first challenge is an obstacle course that has the tribes trying to cross three stretches of water by various means to bring a lit torch to a tower at the end where a fire will be lit. Ogakor takes a quick lead but it becomes moot when Kucha's raft overturns, dousing them and their torch. Ogakor takes home a box of matches and the immunity idol for their efforts. With the first vote right around the corner, the members of Kucha start jockeying for position. It quickly becomes apparent that either Jeff or Debb will go. Jeff has become sick, causing the tribe to worry for him. Debb on the other hand struggles to connect with the tribe and her scheming against Jeff is quickly found out. She ultimately loses the vote and becomes the first contestant to leave. |
