1 star because of the fashion, and .5 because of the music. There is not much else positive to say about this movie. The allusion to Say Anything at the end was funny, but that may be because by the end I was desperate to laugh about something, anything. The sad part is that we missed the first 20 minutes of the movie, and in hindsight, I feel good about that.

There were no funny quotes from the movie that I remember (sad since this is a comedy).

Does anyone remember The Coneheads or It's Pat? Of course not because they blew. A Night at the Roxbury falls in with these two Saturday Night Live sketches gone wrong. I didn't so much as chuckle and let's face it--I laugh at everything. It was just weak and uninspiring. I'm giving it a single star because it was indeed a movie and that's got to count for something.

There’s more to this movie than meets the eye (much more than head-bobbing). Not quite "Happy Gilmore" caliber.. but enjoyable, mindless fun nonetheless. I give this movie a hearty laugh.

The horror. The horror.

I admit I did laugh two or three times during this movie. Not because the movie was funny. Good lord, no, I laughed because I was amazed that the people making this movie thought it would be funny. Movies like this are the reason I stopped watching Saturday Night Live years ago. If they get a funny concept they proceed to beat it into the ground by doing endless variations on it. A good joke is worth a laugh. After about three repetitions though, it's time to move on to a new joke. At that point it tends to actually be negatively funny. It actual takes humor away instead of adding it. This movie appeared after the joke it was based on had been driven into seriously negative humor territory.
