The Peoples Critic When I walked into the theater I didn't expect it to live up to the first one. I was suprised with the outcome. The action was great and Tom Cruise did a good job and John Woo made a great movie. I don't know if you can make another squeal out of this but they could. I recommend that everyone should see this, especially if you liked the first one. Favorite Line: Having fun yet? Jeff from SportsRant Give the audience what they want. Action, a love story, a hint of a plot, and more action. In that light, it's a very good movie. I enjoyed the Woo-tang fight scenes and chase scenes as much as any I've seen lately. However, I was hoping for more along the lines of plot. The first movie delivered a nice twist or two and actually kept me guessing for quite some time. I don't want to give it away, but the only twist in this movie (I'll just call it 'the arm shot') was highly predictable. One more beef: Falling in bed with someone after one night may be plausible, but falling in love? A trained killer-spy and a jewel thief are supposed to have an emotional bond because they locked eyes for a minute? The last time that was believable for me was when I first read Romeo and Juliet. Anyway, enough plot bashing, that wasn't the movie's main goal. A big nod to Cruise for doing his own stunts, including the rock scene without the aid of blue-screen. All in all, a good summer action flick. Favorite Line: "Now I know why you wanna hate me." - Limp B. Jamie This movie, although a good action flick, was a lousy MI film. It focused in too much on Tom Cruise and left little for the supporting characters. MI was a team not one man! The supporting characters all had jobs to do. This seemed like little more than a vehicle for Cruise to run around shooting people. In typical Woo fashion there were far too many slow motion shots and the fight scenes were so long that a real person would have been beaten bloody and in a coma. Yet, the actors finish the fights and seem to suffer little more than a split lip!!! It wouldn't have annoyed me so much if it didn't have the MI name on it! Favorite Line: "Anything from Ving Rhames" |
