Entertainment Weekly talked to director Rob Cohen and Vin Diesel about the film. Cohen had this to say on the film, "He surfs down a stairway using a waiter's tray. He steals a senator's Corvette and drives it off a bridge and surfs on it all the way down. He does stunts on a motocross freestyle bike while being chased by a helicopter with a Vulcan cannon. Basically, we're reinventing the spy movie."

Diesel agrees, offering this comment on the 007 franchise, "Look, James Bond is cool. He's the father of all movie spies. But James Bond is a leftover from the Clark Gable mentality. James Bond is a guy in a suit, and I don't know a kid today who wears a suit. My character is totally different. He doesn't give a s--- about anything but himself and his thrills. He's a guy who's proficient at what he does because of all the time he spent not doing his homework and instead learning how to do Superman seat grabs on a motocross."

Vin Diesel, Marton Csokas and Samuel L. JacksonThe site A Teaser got a hold of the first photo from the set of this film. Check out the duds on Diesel. Very slick. Also worth noticing are the huge scars on Sam Jackson's face.

Pitch Black World talked to Vin Diesel's production company, One Race Pictures who mentions the current status of Diesel's projects in the works: "We are shooting Triple X, we start shooting The Chronicles of Riddick PB2 in June I believe. As for Knockaround Guys, I don't know what the studio is going to do as you know Vin has a small part in that movie it's not his film. XXX comes out on July 26th or August 2nd. I think it's the 2nd. Diablo comes out in the fall of 2002".

Thanks to 'Sidra.'

Samuel L. Jackson found himself with a litte free time after Tick Tock was put on the back burner to allow for a rewrite. He quickly filled that hole in his schedule by signing on to this project. He will play the CIA agent who recruites Diesel's character.

The mighty Stax got hold of the script for this film, which is being called "007 for the 21st century."

The screenplay has settings all over Europe, contributing to the Bond-ish flair. But X (as he's referred to in the draft I was able to read) is far from a 007 wannabe. While the pride of Her Majesty's Secret Service indulges in good food, fine wines and finer women, our hero takes a little better care of himself. When Petra, the female of the piece, orders up a breakfast full of potato pancakes and sausages, X goes with the garden salad. "Hey, I'm from L.A.," he quips.

This is a screenplay that really showcases Diesel's personality and abilities. Like the Riddick character in Pitch Black, X does something Bond never does – he changes. The character is not the same at the end of the film and you get the feeling that the change is permanent, which adds some much needed dimension to the standard two-dimensional action hero role.
