So far there has been little concrete news on this project but plenty of rumors. So let's try and stoke the fire with this one:
"While watching and typing at the 'bronze' yesterday and again today I found a little noticed post that basicly said that Eliza Dushku (the girl who played Faith on Buffy the Vampire Slayer)was being strongly considered for the lead in 'Wonder Woman'.I can not confirm the post and it pretty much went unnoticed ("Buffy's dead what ever shall I do")but, Since I do come here to checkout rumors I thought I'd return the favor... I'm not sure how you confirm this but..."
Anybody heard about this one? If so, get in touch with us immediately.
Thanks to 'Gary.'

Just when you think Warner Bros. has got their head on straight for once by doing something like hiring Darren Aronofsky and Frank Miller to make Batman Year One, they go and do something like this. According to Britain's Daily Star, singer Mariah Carey is going to be playing the role of Wonder Woman in a movie adaptation of the DC comic.
According to a friend of Carey's, "Mariah is so excited about her film career, and especially with the Wonder Woman role. She has a great sense of humour and is a brilliant actress." Brilliant actress? I think the jury is still out on that one. A quick poll of the office generated a less than enthusiastic response. "This is surely the seventh sign...the end is nigh. This is so stupid, I'm speechless. It'll make Tomb Raider look like Citizen Kane," said resident sci-fi expert Ultra Magnus. Long time reviewer Dogburt was heard to say, "I’m speechless. Must be Warner Brothers punishing us again."

Rumors of this project have been floating around for quite awhile now but it never had any momentum behind it. Recent rumors had Madonna interested in the role with Brett Ratner to direct. The latest rumor however is in many ways the most intriguing. Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie, Scary Movie) is apparently now under consideration to play the Amazonian superhero. She certainly has the statuesque appearance for the role. The question is if she has the acting talent for it. Also worth considering is that she is a relative unknown, making her a daring choice for a big budget project.
