Plot:  An outcast young man has only rats for friends. When one of them is killed he goes on a rampage with his friends.

Laura Elena Harring, the sultry star of Mulholland Drive, is joining the cast. She will play the girlfriend of the lead.

New Line is going to remake the 1971 horror film Willard. The original film was about an outcast whose only friends were rats. When one of the rats is killed where he works, he goes berserk and starts a rampage with his rats.

Glen Morgan and James Wong wrote the script for this remake which they will also produce. Morgan will direct. For their star they have signed Crispin Glover (Charlie's Angels, Back to the Future). The rats in the remake will be rendered with CGI. Production will begin February 26.
