Sydney Pollack (Out of Africa) is in negotiations to direct the thriller The Interpreter for Universal. The script was written by Charles Randolph and is described as No Way Out in the United Nations.

Tim Bevan, Lisa Chasin and Kevin Misher will produce the film for Working Title Films and Misher Productions. Shooting should get underway in late fall or early winter.
