The project commenced principal photography on location in Queensland, Australia on January 24th according to a Warner Bros. press release.

Isaiah Washingtion has joined the cast. Gabriel Byrne is in negotiations to join the cast. Production is scheduled to start January 21, 2002 in Brisbane, Australia.

Julianna Margulies will play the female lead of Maureen Epps in this movie. Her character is part of a salvage team that stumbles upon a passenger ship that disappeared in 1953, floating in a little traveled section of the Bering Sea.

The male lead has not yet been cast but the part has been offered to Gabriel Byrne. The director is Steve Beck. Production should begin in January 2002.

Tony Scott is close to taking over as director of the film Ghost Ship. The movie would begin filming this fall with an eye toward releasing it in summer 2002. The story is about a haunted yacht.
