Rosamund Pike spoke to Empire Online about her role in the movie. "She's called Miranda Frost, which is a good name. It was going to be Gala Brand, and then we created this new one. She's an MI6 agent, which is a cool thing to be, sent to work alongside Bond by M and not very happy about it. She would rather go it alone and doesn't quite approve of Bond's methods. He seems to be all fire where she's all coolness and reserve. And then she keeps showing different sides all the way through. It's a lot of fun."

She's enjoying the change of pace. "It couldn't be further from anything I've done. It's a great way into a part because she's a top sportswoman, so I've got to turn myself into that. She's got one skill that I'm not allowed to tell you about – but it rivals Bond girls in the past – it's something new and exciting for Bond to have this particular sport in play."

The start of shooting was heralded by a press conference at Pinewood Studios in England. Pierce Brosnan spoke about his future in the role. "It takes stamina to play this role," Brosnan admitted. "I would like to get off the stage with grace. I am honouring my contract here but it would be wonderful to do another one. After that, I do not know."

While the title remains a mystery some plot info did emerge. The film will begin in the DMZ between the Koreas with a hovercraft chase. It then moves on to Hong Kong, Cuba and London. Bond gets into trouble when an operation in North Korea is compromised by a mysterious traitor.

Director Lee Tamahori did mention that he is open to fan suggestions for the film's title. Now that's intriguing.

Pierce Brosnan talked to Showbiz Ireland about the new movie. "Reports that parts of the Bond film will be shot in Ireland are just rumors, unfortunately Ireland will not feature in the next Bond film," says the Irish actor. "Bond starts shooting on January 13th. Contractually that's it. They have me for three with the option for a fourth and this is the option. I don't know where it's going to go after this. As for a fifth Bond, I'd like to do one - I've never really got them too tightly about a fifth."

Aston Martin VanquishAll is now right with the world. Well maybe not, but James Bond is going to be driving an Aston Martin again, like he's supposed. Fans have been a bit annoyed to see the British spy 007 behind the wheel of a German BMW in recent films. Now MGM, Eon Productions and Aston Martin have put together a deal to put Bond back behind the wheel of the British sports car. The recently launched V12 Vanquish will be the actual car. With a few modifications no doubt. Of course the fact that American automaker Ford now owns Aston Martin shouldn't be too much of an issue...

Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter.
