Ted Demme dead at 38

In a stunning piece of news, director Ted Demme died Sunday at the age of 38. Demme was taking part in a charity basketball game when he collapsed at the Crossroads School. He was rushed to the Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center where he was pronounced dead soon after arriving. The cause has not yet been determined.

The young director got his start at MTV in its early days working on Yo! MTV Raps. Later he moved on to feature films and directed movies such as Beautiful Girls, Life and last year's Blow.
