PROJECT: "FARSCAPE - "A Tale of Two Crichtons"
CATEGORY: MUSIC VIDEO
SONG: "SOMEWHERE OUT THERE" by OUR LADY PEACE
STATUS: COMPLETED
COMPILED & EDITED BY: RAFAEL PUJALS

After attending the second annual Farscape Convention in Burbank, I was inspired by all the cool music videos that the fans had put together. In particular, Elena Cooper's "Higher" was simply fantastic. Knowing full well that she had made the best possible 'overview of the show' video, I decided to focus on a particular theme - the relationship between Aeryn & the two Crichtons chronicled in season three. So I knew that I wanted to make a video for the third annual convention, but wasn't sure which song to use. Then one day I was sitting in a traffic jam listening to the radio, and a song came on I'd never heard before. I immediately knew that it was THE song. It seemed to me that lyrically, "Somewhere Out There" could have been written specifically for Farscape. It just seemed to fit so well. It's funny - I sort of worked backwards on this. I knew exactly what image I wanted over the final "your fallin' out of reach" line, and it just went from there.

In the end, I gotta say I'm pretty happy with the way this turned out. Luckily, the guys over at Creation Entertainment agreed, as it was shown at the convention as the "Music Video Salute to John Crichton". I really owe them a debt of thanks, as I've gotta admit, I've never been so honored in my life. For all the long time readers out there, this (almost) made up for meeting Ben Browder backstage last year and not realizing it.

Finally, I have to thank staff writers Steven Doughterty and Brandon DeLancey for all their help on this. Without their input, it would not have turned out they way it did. Thanks guys.

Well, on to the video already. Hope ya enjoy it!
