Movie: 8/10
This is one of the best Farrelly movies around. It almost is an equal of There's Something About Mary. Their other work, excluding Dumb and Dumber, is a barrage of dick and fart jokes and becomes tedious and rediculous after the first half hour. This, however, is different. I admit, it is loaded with dick and fart jokes, however, they add to the movie and no matter how many times you watch it (like Dumb and Dumber and Mary), you can't help but laugh. It also has a heart when it needs it. Enough stroking this picture, it's work should stand on it's own. It's not a Rushmore or an Election, but it's good none the less. In case you have been unfortunate and have not seen this movie, it deals with Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson), a washed out bowler who lost his bowling hand after a run in with Ernie McCracken (Bill Murray, absolutely hilarious). After losing his hand, he becomes a "munson" and becomes a loser alcholic, however, one day he encounters Ishmel (Randy Quaid), an Amish prodigy of sorts and the two head to Reno to win a tourniment. Decent movie with hilarious performances. I'll comment on the added scenes (edited into the film) in the extras section.
Video: 7/10
Decent, standard and widescreen. Not Fight Club quality though.
Audio: 7/10
Again, 5.1, decent, but not Fight Club.
Extras: 6/10
Decent commentary with the Farrelly's, trailer, and 8 page booklet. The highligh is the added scenes, which aren't bad, but some seem pointless and stupid. (It changed the rating to R, by the way.) Not bad stuff, maybe a commentary by the actors though or a documentary instead of a booklet?
Overall: 7/10
It's funny and it's only like ten bucks at Target stores. Buy it!
