Die Hard 5 Star Collection
It's about damn time. Die Hard has long been one of my favorite action movies but the existing DVD was so weak I never bothered to pick it up. That's about to change. Fox is releasing a new version as part of it's "Five Star Collection." What do you get? Well the two disc package is well loaded with extended scenes, concept art, deleted lines, outtakes, a director's commentary and commentary from cast and crew as well. Remember the feature on the MIB DVD that allowed you to re-edit certain scenes to your taste? Well it's back again for this movie too.
- 2 extended scenes: Airplane Sequence and Power Shutdown Scene
- DVD-ROM feature with running script to screen comparison
- Deleted lines and outtakes reel, gag reel, newscasts and featurette
- Cutting room and mixing studio: puts the viewer in the editor's chair by cutting and mixing Die Hard sequences, allowing viewers to edit footage the way they want to see it
- Commentary by director John McTiernan, production designer Jackson DeGovia, and scene specific commentary by special effects supervisor Richard Edlund
- Full length screenplay and interactive articles from American Cinematographer and Cinefex Magazine
- English DTS, English 5.1 Dolby Surround and French 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound
