 So there I am on the front porch, taking pictures of a little grey bird at the edge of the lawn. He's not quite close enough, so I'm sitting still, hoping he'll move my way. In the meantime, this little sparrow flies right past my head and lands about five feet away from me. So guess which one you get to see today. The other bird was more interesting, but this one demanded to have his picture taken.

 Me, I would have preferred a bacon and egg sandwich but this fellow might have a thing against eating eggs. So the worm he's carrying is perfectly understandable. It could still be improved with bacon and some cheese though.

 I was a little startled to discover at the end of my son's birthday party that I had taken well over 400 photos. That's mostly because I was going for action shots and was firing off bursts, hoping for the perfect shot. The camera really made my life easy today. Despite shooting in a relatively dark environment, it lets me work at pretty high light sensitivity without too much noise, so that I can go with a fast shutter and freeze the action.

 This is a test of my new 250mm lens. I took a string of near random photos to see what it could do and I rather liked this one. It was taken from about ten feet away.

 A birthday cupcake really hits the spot at snack time. Particularly tasty when munched while watching an episode of Krypto the Superdog. Seriously.

 I'm into the third week with this 365 day photo blog and I'm starting to feel the time crunch. Some days just have so much stuff going on that it's tough to find time to take photos. So, two days in a low I've been late. It probably won't be the last time either. But the one rule is that the photo has to have been taken by me within 24 hours prior to posting.
For the record, this looks a lot better at larger sizes. So click on it. This thumbnail is underwhelming.

 Sometimes I'm going to post crappy photos. It means I reached for greatness and came back with a turd. Today is such a day. I love these star trail photos and wanted to make one of my own. It seems I have a bit more to learn. Oh well, I'll try again soon.

 I don't know what these are. Plants are not my thing. All I know is that it grows in the front garden and there is a bug on one of them. I didn't have much time for a photo today and they looked nice.
